A letter to the Church - September 29, 2011 from Pastor Gary Cortese

If we could only see beyond this realm into the next our focus and attention would be forever altered. For the things we see with the physical eye are only temporal, but the things which are unseen are eternal (2 Cor. 4:18).

We are not earthly beings trying to live a spiritual life but spirit beings having to live a temporary earthly life.

The hidden man of the heart is the spiritual man and is a possessor of the Divine nature of God. As Believers we actually have our Heavenly Daddy’s DNA in us! Regardless of where our “earth suit” (physical body) is located at this present time we (the spirit man) are seated in heavenly places in Christ…far above ALL principality, power, might, dominion and EVERY name that is named (Eph. 1:20,21 & 2:6).
Brothers and Sisters, we cannot be defeated if we will not quit. We have been made triumphant and are more than conquerors (2 Cor. 2:14). Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world (1 Jn. 4:4).
If we become totally consumed with His presence and completely immersed in His Word the truth of who we are in Christ will carry us all the way through the valley of the shadow of death and we will emerge victorious and vindicated.
The two primary weapons our adversary (the devil) uses are Deception and Distraction. We cannot allow ourselves the luxury of dwelling on anything but the truth of God’s Word (Php. 4:7,8). The truth of God’s Word will trump all circumstances. Everything we see and feel in the natural is subject to change.
You are not alone! There is a Friend who sticks closer than a brother (Prov. 17:17 & 18:24). When others abandon and forsake us HE NEVER WILL.
Contrary to what we have been taught we don’t have to be big, strong men or women with God. The challenge is for us to learn how to just be Daddy’s little boys and girls. We were created to be a family. God wanted a family! He’s a family-oriented God with a desire to take walks with His children and share the wonder and excitement of every-day life.
People are just too busy and preoccupied to really spend time with Daddy. Even those who are doing their Heavenly Father’s work are too busy and preoccupied with the work rather than being preoccupied with Him personally.
Something else of significance is that the church today looks nothing like the church of the New Testament. What can we do about this? Again, become so preoccupied with Him personally that nothing else and no one else will be as important to us as He is. Isn’t that what this world so desperately needs?
Become so intoxicated with Him that you begin to focus on what makes Him happy, what pleases Him, what brings joy to His heart. Let’s start a revolution of Love for God such as the world and church has never seen!
